FAQ
Questions, answered
Pricing, the airport rule, vehicle capacity, and the parts most sites leave out, including when you are better off booking something else.
The short version
Sedan $120 an hour, premium SUV $150, Mercedes S-Class $230, Mercedes Sprinter $240, with a three-hour minimum on every hourly reservation.
Pickups at Jacksonville International happen in the designated Ground Transportation Area on the lower level, because the airport does not permit pre-arranged vehicles at the curb or in the Hourly Garage. Every reservation produces a written quote before anything is booked, with the cancellation window stated in hours.
Request a quote through the booking form on this site, or email reservations@blackcarservicejacksonville.com with your itinerary, passengers, and luggage. Confirm the exact transfer price or complete hourly quote before booking.
And the honest boundary, since it is the question people are least likely to ask: for a short midday trip with a carry-on, a rideshare is the better answer and a three-hour minimum is not worth paying. This service earns its price on pre-dawn departures, late arrivals, outlying destinations, groups, real luggage, mobility needs, and trips where being late has a consequence you cannot absorb.
The three questions behind most of the others
Almost everything below reduces to one of three things, and recognising which one you are asking usually gets you the answer faster than reading a category.
The first is capacity. Will the assigned vehicle hold my people and my things? Confirm seats, bags, golf clubs, cruise cases, child seats, and mobility devices in writing rather than treating class labels as a guarantee.
Include the operating flight number and a way to communicate schedule changes. For medical discharge, private-aircraft arrivals, or cruise collection, ask how waiting is handled and when additional charges begin. Hourly hire covers the booked window; extensions require confirmation.
For a six-hour business day, the sedan estimate is $710 and the SUV estimate is $870. Include all driving and waiting in the booked window. A one-way transfer is quoted separately for the exact itinerary.
If your question is not answered below, send it with the itinerary. A specific question about a specific trip gets a specific answer, which is more useful than a general one.
Pricing and minimums
How much does car service cost in Jacksonville?
The published hourly displays are $120 an hour for an executive sedan, $150 for a premium SUV, $230 for a Mercedes S-Class, and $240 for a Mercedes Sprinter. Hourly reserved time has a three-hour minimum, with complete-duration estimates of $360, $440, $690, and $710, including gratuity and applicable service and card charges. A one-way airport transfer is quoted separately. The full card and worked examples are on the rates page.
Why is there a three-hour minimum?
Because the minimum applies to reserved hourly time, whether you sit in the car or not. A one-way Ponte Vedra transfer is quoted for the exact itinerary; hourly hire is a different product. Request the written quote for the product you actually need.
What is not included in the hourly rate?
Published hourly estimates already include gratuity and applicable service and card charges. Confirm trip-specific extras on the written quote: the airport access fee where a trip touches JAX, parking where the vehicle has to be held rather than staged, and any published venue or event fee including credentialed access during tournament week at TPC Sawgrass. Jacksonville is effectively toll-free, so there are usually no toll pass-throughs on local routes. Do not add a second gratuity unless the quote says to.
Is there surge pricing?
For early pickups, holidays, and major event dates, confirm availability and the full written quote in advance. Include the agreed time window, pickup location, waiting, and any access or parking charges.
Is hourly hire cheaper than separate trips?
When both sides are hourly reservations, often yes. Four separate hourly bookings each hitting the three-hour minimum is $1,440 in a sedan. A six-hour hourly block covering the same day is $710 and includes the waiting between stops. Airport one-ways are quoted as itineraries, not as four automatic three-hour blocks. If a day has more than two movements or meaningful waiting, ask for the block.
How are long regional trips priced?
Runs to Orlando, Savannah, Gainesville, and Daytona Beach are quoted as whole itineraries rather than by the hour, because hourly pricing across a two-hour-each-way drive produces a figure that serves nobody. The quote states plainly whether the vehicle waits for you or returns empty, since those are very different pieces of work at the same mileage.
Airports and flights
Where does the chauffeur meet me at JAX?
In the designated Ground Transportation Area on the lower level, next to baggage claim. Jacksonville International requires pre-arranged operators to use that area and does not permit pickup at the public curb or in the Hourly Garage. Rideshare and taxis work their own separate signed zones, which is why the two products collect from different places.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
Include the operating flight number on the quote request so pickup time can be set from the published schedule. If the flight moves, send the update. Extended time in the terminal after you have collected your bags is billable, and the quote should state where that boundary sits.
What if my flight is cancelled outright?
Ask for the cancellation window in hours on the confirmation. If the airline cancels the flight, send the replacement flight number so the quote can be moved rather than assumed forfeited.
Can you meet me inside with a name sign?
Ask on the quote request if you want an inside meeting with a name sign rather than walking to the Ground Transportation Area. That request has to be on the confirmation, because it requires the chauffeur to park and come into the building.
Which airports do you cover?
Jacksonville International for commercial flights, Signature Flight Support on the field at JAX for private aviation, and Jacksonville Executive at Craig about eight miles east of Downtown for general aviation. Craig has no customs facility, so international arrivals clear at JAX.
How do private aviation pickups work?
They work from a tail number and an FBO name rather than a flight number, because there is no commercial flight to track and Craig has more than one FBO. The vehicle meets the aircraft or the FBO lobby depending on the facility. Private schedules move more freely than airline schedules, so a live coordination contact on both ends is the arrangement that works best.
How early will the pickup be for a departure?
It depends entirely on the origin, because Jacksonville is the largest city in the contiguous United States by land area. Downtown is roughly thirteen miles from JAX; Ponte Vedra is thirty-plus, Amelia Island about thirty-five, St. Augustine roughly fifty-five. The morning peak of about 7 to 9 a.m. converges on the Downtown interchange, where a bridge incident has no parallel route.
Vehicles and luggage
What vehicles do you operate?
An executive sedan, a premium SUV, a Mercedes S-Class, and a Mercedes Sprinter. Confirm assigned seats and bags. Full detail is on the fleet page.
Can four passengers with golf clubs fit in one vehicle?
Frequently not in one SUV, and this is the most common sizing problem in this market. Four travel bags plus four club covers usually means asking whether two premium SUVs or one Mercedes Sprinter is the assigned configuration that fits. Two three-hour SUV hourly estimates are $880; a three-hour Sprinter estimate is $710. State the exact load and ask for written confirmation that it fits.
Do you have stretch limousines or party buses?
No. For most occasions people book those for, the Sprinter is more comfortable, parks where a stretch vehicle cannot, and is easier to get in and out of. If a genuine stretch limousine is specifically what you need, a local limousine specialist is the right call rather than this operation.
Can you carry a wheelchair or walker?
Folding wheelchairs, walkers, rollators, and portable oxygen concentrators may travel when the assigned vehicle can take them; tell dispatch which device specifically. There is no ramp or lift in this fleet, so a passenger who cannot transfer out of a wheelchair into a vehicle seat needs an accessible-transport specialist instead.
Do you provide child seats?
Yes, with advance notice, and the reservation needs each child's age because the seat type depends on it. Confirm that requested seats will be in the assigned vehicle. A seat also occupies a passenger position, so two seats plus two adults plus luggage usually needs a premium SUV rather than a sedan.
What about pets?
Name the animal in the quote request, species, size, and whether it travels in a carrier, and dispatch will confirm what can be accommodated. It is a detail that is straightforward when known in advance and a problem when it appears at a kerb.
Areas, routes, and events
What areas do you serve?
Downtown Jacksonville, San Marco, Riverside and Avondale, the Southside, the three Beaches towns of Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach, Ponte Vedra Beach and TPC Sawgrass, Nocatee, Mayo Clinic on San Pablo Road, Amelia Island, and St. Augustine, plus the Jaxport cruise terminal near Dames Point.
Do you cover St. Johns and Nassau counties?
Yes. Ponte Vedra Beach, Nocatee, and St. Augustine are in St. Johns County, and Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach are in Nassau County. Those outlying areas are where app supply is genuinely thin, which is why pre-arranged service is worth the most there, particularly for a pre-dawn departure.
How far is everything from the airport?
Downtown is roughly thirteen miles, Mayo Clinic about twenty across the city, Ponte Vedra Beach thirty-plus, Amelia Island about thirty-five north via Exit 373 and SR-200, and St. Augustine roughly fifty-five south to Exit 318. Jacksonville is the largest city in the contiguous United States by land area, which is why these distances surprise visitors.
Do you go to Orlando, Savannah, or Gainesville?
Yes, and those are quoted as whole itineraries rather than by the hour, because hourly pricing across a two-hour-each-way drive produces a figure that serves nobody. The quote states plainly whether the vehicle waits for you or returns empty, since those are very different pieces of work at the same mileage.
Can you handle THE PLAYERS Championship week?
For early pickups, holidays, and major event dates, confirm availability and the full written quote in advance. Include the agreed time window, pickup location, waiting, and any access or parking charges.
Do you serve St. Augustine during Nights of Lights?
Yes, and December is when the drop-off is worth the most, because historic district parking effectively stops being an option in the evening. Allow substantially more time than the fifty-five miles suggests, agree the pickup point precisely since the district restricts vehicle access, and book earlier than you would in spring.
Can you move a wedding party?
Yes, and it is usually booked hourly rather than as transfers, because a wedding day has no reliable schedule. The common combination is a Mercedes S-Class for the couple and a Mercedes Sprinter for the party, quoted as one itinerary. Guest airport movement on the same weekend belongs in the same conversation.
Booking, changes, and accounts
How do I get a price for my trip?
Send the itinerary through the quote form, date, times, exact addresses rather than neighbourhood names, flight number if an airport is involved, real passenger and luggage counts, and anything unusual. You will receive a written quote against the published rates naming the vehicle class, meeting point, waiting terms, and cancellation window before anything is booked.
Is there a phone number?
Request a quote through the booking form on this site, or email reservations@blackcarservicejacksonville.com with your itinerary, passengers, and luggage. Confirm the exact transfer price or complete hourly quote before booking.
How far in advance should I book?
A weekday sedan transfer is comfortable a day ahead. Book as early as you have the date for a Sprinter, weddings, proms, any spring or autumn weekend, Amelia Island and St. Augustine trips, THE PLAYERS Championship week, and cruise departures, those reservations run out of availability rather than getting more expensive.
Can I change the itinerary after booking?
Yes. On an hourly block, changing stops or running long is what the structure is for, and extending beyond the booked block is usually possible at the same hourly rate subject to what is booked behind you. On point-to-point work, a material change to distance, stops, or vehicle class is re-quoted and confirmed before it proceeds.
What is the cancellation policy?
The terms are stated in your confirmation in hours rather than adjectives, which is the single most useful thing to check when it arrives. Moving a reservation is generally easier than cancelling one, so if plans are uncertain say so, dispatch would rather rebook you than process a cancellation.
Do you offer corporate accounts?
Yes. An account can carry consolidated invoicing with trip-level detail for reconciliation, stored traveller preferences and vehicle classes, and a single coordination contact for recurring travel and guest programmes. Pricing stays on the same published card, there is no separate corporate tier.
Do you have reviews or ratings?
None are published on this site, because none has been independently verified for this brand. A star rating shown without a linked platform behind it is a design element rather than evidence, and we would rather leave it out than decorate the page. There is also no published street address or stated fleet size for the same reason.
When should I not book this service?
For a short unplanned trip, a four-mile run across San Marco, a hotel to a restaurant, a ride home from dinner, a rideshare is the right answer and a three-hour hourly block is not worth paying. Pre-arranged service earns its price on pre-dawn departures, late arrivals, outlying destinations, groups, real luggage, mobility needs, and trips where being late has a consequence.
Something else on your mind? Send it with the itinerary through the quote form, or email reservations@blackcarservicejacksonville.com. Fuller detail lives on the rates, fleet, and guides pages.
